American actor Seth Green bought back an NFT from the Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) collection that was stolen from him in May 2022. This is what he's talking aboutsaid during a speech on Twitter Space.

In early May, Green was the victim of a phishing attackwhich resulted in the loss of four non-fungible tokens, including BAYC #8398. The latter was supposed to be the character of the actor's new show White Horse Tavern.

Stolen 'bored monkey' then soldto DarkWing84 for 106.5 ETH (~$271,400 at the exchange rate at that time). In an interview with BuzzFeed, the collector said he purchased the NFT stolen from the actor "legally".

Green, in turn, threatened DarkWing84 with legal proceedings. Later, the parties agreed to a personal conversation. It is not known how the conversation ended, but the collector agreed to return the asset.

According to Etherscan, Green transferred 165 ETH to DarkWing84 - more than $286,000 at the exchange rate at the time of writing.

OpenSea Marketplace has marked BAYC #8398 asassociated with “suspicious activity.” This means that the token cannot be sold or bought on the platform. Therefore, the parties decided to conduct the transaction on the NFT Trader platform.
