Aave Companies seeks reimbursement for development costs of Aave v3

The Aave Companies team has posted a blog post asking decentralized autonomous organization Aave DAO for $16.6 million in reimbursement for Aave v3 development costs.

According to the developers, one part of the $15 million amount will gofor the team's salaries, and the remaining $1.6 million to cover audit costssmart contracts. Aave Companies alleges that five blockchain security companies reviewed Aave v3 in two separate rounds of audits. 

Aave Developers Want $10 Million Fromthe specified amount was paid in stablecoins, and $6.6 million was paid in AAVE tokens. At the same time, Aave Companies promises that it will lock its AAVE tokens for $6.6 million after the proposal is approved. The blocking period will be one year.

The company also insists that payment instablecoins reflected the percentage composition of the protocol's treasury holdings. The DAO treasury stores approximately $34 million in three stablecoins – USDC, DAI and USDT. At the same time, USDC makes up 51% of assets, and the last two – 30% and 19%, respectively. 

Aave Companies is a commercial company,behind the Aave lending protocol, and the Aave DAO controls the protocol's funding. Last month, despite the collapse of the UST project and increased regulation, the Aave DAO voted in favor of a proposal to create a new stablecoin, GHO.
