5% of corporations plan to invest in bitcoin by the end of the year

A study by the consulting company Gartner showed that one in 20 business leaders plans to invest part of the firm's funds in bitcoin in 2021.

According to the survey, the views of various managers andCFOs of corporations vary greatly from industry to industry. The greatest propensity to invest in digital assets is shown by representatives of technology companies. 50% of respondents from this area are inclined to buy.

Overall, 5% of all executives intend to invest in Bitcoin by the end of this year, andanother 11% plan to do so by 2024.The remaining 84% of those surveyed expressed their concerns about the high risks associated with volatility. At the same time, more than 70% of respondents said that so far they are more interested in what other companies are doing with cryptocurrency and how regulators look at it.

Gartner notes that, among other concerns,managers cite the board's failure to make a decision on investing in bitcoin, slow adoption as a payment method, lack of understanding of the technology, cyber risks and the complexity of asset accounting.

The problem of slow implementation in the near futurepayment giants are planning to solve it. For example,  this year MasterCard will add the ability to conduct cryptocurrency transactions to its network, and Visa is already testing a set of banking services for transactions with cryptocurrency.
