Ruffer Investment Fund with $27 billion assets placed 2.5% of assets in bitcoin

The British investment company Ruffer Investment Company, which manages about $27 billion,2.5% of assets in bitcoin, According to CoinDesk.

"We see this as a small but effective insurance against the continued depreciation of the world's largest currencies.Bitcoin diversifys the company's (much larger) investments in gold and inflation-linked bonds and advocateshedge against certain currency and market risks that we see."

There is no exact data on the size of the assets of the Ruffer Multi-Strategies fund through which the investment was made, but according to various estimates, the amount of investments could amount to1.86 million to $37.5 million.

Ruffer also said it had reduced investments in gold to be able to include bitcoin in its portfolio.According to her, in making the decision it was guided by two requirements: not to lose money over the next 12 months and to increase the value of client assets in the long term, surpassing the indicators of deposit accounts.
