Ukrainian cyber policesuppressed the activities of the alleged organizers of the network of online exchanges for money laundering using cryptocurrencies.This is reported by the press service of the department.

Three suspects supported the work of about 20 online exchangers.hacking attacks on international companies, spreading malware and stealing funds from the bank accounts of foreign nationals and companies.

The defendants of the case also promoted their services at the Darknet forums, the law enforcement officers added.

According to the police, between 2018 and 2019, through online exchanges, fraudsters carried out transactions for $42 million in different cryptocurrencies.

During the searches, police seized equipment, $200,000 in cash, as well as weapons and ammunition.

The suspects face up to 8 years in prison.

Earlier in Ukraine, a group of hackers was discovered who stole more than $ 1.1 million from bank accounts, some of which fraudsters transferred to cryptocurrency.
