Ignatov was arrested by US authorities in New Yorklast spring. Later, the co-founder admitted to laundering money through cryptocurrency. However, he denies any guilt in involvement in Onecoin, as he did not know that the organization was a pyramid. Ignatov faces up to 90 years in prison.

OneCoin was founded in 2014. and is considered the largest financial pyramid in the history of cryptocurrencies. The main organizer of the company is the “crypto-king” of Ruzhi Ignatov, the sister of the defendant. In October 2017, she did not appear at the OneCoin meeting of participants, since her location is unknown.
