Vitalik Buterin was selling ETH at the peak of the price

The creator of Ethereum confirmed the information about the sale of its ETH reserves in a dialogue on Twitter.

Vitalik Buterinadmitted that he had sold his personal stocks of ETH,when the price hovered around $ 700. Although he did not specify the exact amount of sales, many talk about 30,000 ETH, which at that time brought him about $ 22 million. It seems unlikely that he completely sold all his ETH, at the moment it is unknown how much more cryptocurrency he has in his possession.

The creator of Ethereum noted that he does not use cryptocurrency in everyday life, but pays in dollars or the local currency of the country in which he resides, refuting the assumption that he owns hundreds of BTC.Buterin noted that he has not bought bitcoin since 2017. 

Vitalik admitted that at the peak of the ETH rally, he managed to convince the Ethereum Foundation to sell 70,000 ETH. The proceeds at $ 1200 per coin went to payments to developers and grants.

ETH is still the second largestcryptocurrency by market capitalization. Ethereum's baseline still justifies it as one of the safest long-term cryptocurrency investments.
