Vitalik Buterin: Ethereum 2.0 multi-client testnet will launch in April

Ethereum creator Vitalik Buterin hopes that the launch of version 2.0 of the test network will be the second largest by capitalizationcryptocurrencies with the support of many clients will be held in April. It is reported by The Block.

ETH Specifications 2.0 passed the audit last week. The audit company Least Authority pointed out several vulnerabilities regarding the block release mechanism and P2P data exchange. In particular, the company expressed concern about the threat of spam attacks.

Buterin emphasized that the developers of ETH 2.0 are working to solve problems. He added that the threat of spam attacks was relevant for the first version of Ethereum, but was eliminated over time.

ETH 2.0 Coordinator Danny Ryan emphasized that the next step after the audit will be the launch of a multi-client testnet and a reward program for developers who have identified bugs in Phase 0.

“First we need a multi-client test network. Then we will observe the testnet for some time and, if there are no problems, we will start. This is a similar procedure to the one done in 2015 with Eth1 ”- concluded Vitalik Buterin.
