Former Odessa people's deputy Dmitry Golubov became an assistant to the leader of the pro-Russian Opposition Platform— “For life” by Viktor Medvedchuk.
According to The Wall Street Journal, Golubovparticipated in the creation and oversight of one of the largest international networks for the sale of stolen banking data on the Internet. The Carderplanet.com store sold stolen information on millions of bank accounts from the US, UK and other countries. It is assumed that the creators of the store stole at least $ 11.4 million from American bank accounts.
Carderplanet was closed in 2018. The US authorities say they are continuing their investigation, and further arrests in Ukraine may follow.
Golubov was arrested and spent half a year in the Lukyanovskiy SIZO, released on bail. The ex-people's deputy denies his involvement in hacker activities, but regularly declares crypto assets.
In the declaration for 2019, Dmitry Golubov indicated 4,376 BTC (over $ 275 million at the moment), entering the five largest hodlers in Ukraine.
In 2020, Ukrainian officials declared 46,351 BTC worth over UAH 75 million.
