The Telegram Open Network team refused payments in the Gram cryptocurrency in 2021

Pavel Durov sent out a version of the letter for investors not located in American jurisdictionthe blockchain platform Telegram Open Network, in which it announced a decision to refuse payments in the Gram cryptocurrency even in 2021. It is reported by The Bell, citing two TON investors.

The Telegram team explained their decision by «regulatory risks».

“Based on recent discussions withby the relevant authorities and our lawyer, we made the difficult decision not to use the option related to Gram or other cryptocurrency, due to the uncertain attitude of the relevant regulatory authorities, ”- the letter says.

Durov offers non-US investorsconclude a new agreement. To do this, they must confirm their jurisdiction before 17:00 London time on Tuesday, May 5, and then send the signed documents until May 11.

Recall, April 29, Pavel Durov once againpostponed the launch date of the TON platform to April 30, 2021 and invited dissenting investors to take back 72% of the investments. In the event of a successful launch, he promised to give out Gram tokens, or, in case of failure, 110% of the investments.
