The State Duma may adopt a document on the regulation of cryptocurrencies during the current session. The head of the committee on thisAnatoly Aksakov said to the financial market in a conversation with TASS. The spring session of the State Duma began on January 10 and will last until July 31.
“In the framework of the spring session, it is important for us to adoptalready some kind of legal document that determines the regulation in this market. It is developing too fast, there are too many investors, and it is important to put an end to many issues, especially since the same mining creates problems for electricity consumers, for local authorities, and in order to at least regulate this issue, it is necessary to make an appropriate legal decision »– he explained.
The Central Bank's report released last weekhe described proposals to ban the issuance and organization of the circulation of cryptocurrencies as "an unequivocal invitation to discussion." According to the deputy, various options are already being discussed in the committee on the financial market, but there is no definite bill yet.
“We take as a basis the document proposed by the Central Bank, and we will also consider other proposals, and in the near future. I can say that so far the points of view differ quite seriously.”he continued.
Earlier, Aksakov stated that the law on the regulation of cryptocurrencies in Russia would appear no earlier than autumn.
