The history of changes in the Red Book will be recorded in NFT

The TON Animals Red List NFT collection will record the history of changes in the International Red Book (IUCN). FirstThe upgrade will take place on July 21, 2022, after the IUCN releases an updated animal status. Such an update occurs every six months, ARL will update the data in the project every time.

RARITY DEGREES:

  • Is under critical threat (Critically Endangered, CR) - species, the number of individuals of which in nature does not exceed several hundred.
  • Is under threat(Endangered, EN) - a species whose number of individuals is quite large, but for certain reasons it cannot yet be said that it will not disappear within a few years.
  • Vulnerable(Vulnerable, VU) is a numerous species, which, however, due to reasons (for example, deforestation) is still in danger.
  • TON Animals Red List is 13,333 unique NFTs,created in a non-generative way. Each NFT is a rare animal, an analogue of an endangered species from the Red Book. NFTs differ from each other by marks about the status of the animal. After the upgrade, additional “paws” will appear on the NFT, indicating the current degree of rarity. The history of changes for each animal will also be stored in the NFT. Such an upgrade is the first in the history of the cryptocurrency market.

In developer parlance this is called NFT-editable. The required speed and volume of such changes are now possible only on the third generation Proof-of-Stake blockchain – TON.

Currently, more than 84 are listed in the Red Book (IUCN)100 species of animals. More than 16,976 are endangered. During the update in IUCN, “migration” occurs among animal species: some become rarer, some restore the population, and some finally die out. Thus, recent updates have moved the Komodo dragon (the world's largest lizard) and the Pyrenean muskrat from vulnerable to endangered species, the maleo bird has received the status of a species on the verge of extinction, and dragonfliesSympetrum dilatatum(Fr. St. Helena) and were considered extinct.

    Comments:

“If new species are included in the Red Book, ARL will create additional NFTs, they can only be “mined” in a P2E game that we will release at the end of summer”Sergey Romanov, co-founder, CMO

“We understand that such updates haveethical moment. Holders turn out to be interested in their “animal” dying out as soon as possible, and the cost of NFTs will increase. However, the most rare status is not an extinct, but a revived animal: for example, the animal was considered extinct, but after a while several individuals were found and the status changed”Sergey Romanov, co-founder, CMO

“Technologically, it's not very difficult. It's just that no one really understood why bother. For us, the essence of the trouble is very clear: it is important for us to emphasize the integration of the real and virtual world, to create a precedent for NFT-fixing history in real time”Sergey Romanov, co-founder, CMO
