The British regulator classified BitMEX as potential scammers

The UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has warned investors that the cryptocurrency exchangeDerivatives BitMEX did not receive permission to work in the country and could potentially conduct fraudulent activities.

The regulator recalled that almost all companies and individuals offering financial services or products in the UK should be authorized by him.

«However, some firms operate without our permission, and some knowingly carry out investment scams»,- the statement says.

In it, the FCA indicated the official BitMEX website and two email addresses owned by the exchange.

The regulator noted that he does not recommend using the services of companies not included in his register in order to avoid loss of funds.

Over the past year, the FCA has been considering the complete ban on the sale of cryptocurrency derivatives to retail investors.
