Tether launched stablecoin USDT on the NEAR network

The issuer of USDT, Tether Operations Limited, has issued a stablecoin on the NEAR network.

The NEAR Protocol platform supportsopen source smart contracts. It has a high bandwidth and is designed to create decentralized applications.

In July, the total number of projects in the network exceeded 700 units. According to the NEAR Foundation, the NEAR network makes between 300,000 and 400,000 transactions daily.

“We support initiatives that can increase the stability of the DeFi ecosystem and help us accelerate the mass adoption of Web3,” said NEAR Foundation CEO Marieke Flaman.

Tether stablecoin also runs on Algorand, Avalanche, Simple Ledger Protocol Bitcoin Cash, Ethereum, EOS, Kusama, Liquid Network, Polygon, Tezos, Tron, Solana, and Statemine.
