Sky Mavis Partners with Google Cloud to Launch Validation Node on Ronin

Google's cloud division has agreed to run a validation node on Axie Infinity's Ronin network to help the company grow the network.

Developer of the popular NFT game Axie InfinitySky Mavis announced that it has entered into an agreement with Google Cloud to continue working on the decentralization of its Ronin network, an Ethereum sidechain designed for NFT-based games. Google will launch a validation node on Ronin, which will help secure the network and improve transaction processing.

Specific terms of the deal are not yet availableare not disclosed, but it is known that Google Cloud has been a strategic partner of Sky Mavis since 2020. Cloud solutions company Searce has also joined the development.

Google Cloud Representative Ruma Balasubramanian(Ruma Balasubramanian) said that by implementing the Play-to-Earn (P2E) concept, Sky Mavis becomes a shining example of how cloud technology can enable blockchain to bring innovation and enormous value to companies. Google Cloud will become the 18th validator in Ronin, which will attract additional assets to the network.

In total, the company plans to place at least 21 validators on the network. Ronin was previously joined by DappRadar, Yield Guild Games, Nansen and Animoca Brands.

At the end of March, the network suffered a hacker attack and as a result lost
assets worth more than $600 million (17,600 ETH and 25.5 million USDC). Then the developers stated that they would compensate the losses in full. 

Last month, analytics firm Blockckdata released a report saying Google parent Alphabet has invested more than $1.5 billion in cryptocurrency companies.
