“I completely agree that there are placeswhere financial controls were insufficient, and that these places may have been critical, but the allegations of a complete lack of financial controls are false,” Bankman-Fried said.

He doesn't know for sure whether the new one was lyingFTX administration intentionally or was the result of misconceptions and lack of information. Bankman-Fried said that after leaving his post as CEO, his access to data was limited and there were cases when his explanations were simply ignored.

“You must agree that it is quite difficult to getreliable data if you are trying to run a company but refuse to talk to anyone involved in running it,” Bankman-Fried said.

Earlier, during his appearance in court in the case ofFTX's bankruptcy, the exchange's new CEO, John J. Ray, described the circumstances as the worst example of corporate control he had ever witnessed.
