The salary of the head of Argo Blockchain, whose shares are traded on the London Stock Exchange, will beconvert from British pound to bitcoin at the market rate on the day of payment.
Argo Blockchain company specialized inmining cryptocurrency, will be the first publicly traded company to pay salaries to CEO Peter Wall in bitcoin. He himself announced this on the Argo Blockchain channel on YouTube.
Now any employee of the company with the consentwill be able to receive cryptocurrency as a salary. The Toronto-based Satstree crypto exchange will be used to convert British Pounds to Bitcoin.
CEO Peter Wall noted that histhe salary will be pegged to the pound sterling and converted to the main digital coin at the market rate on payday. He admitted that he would like to have a fixed payment in bitcoins, but this is not possible yet.
In February, Twitter CFO Ned Segal announced that in the future, the company could acquire bitcoin following the example of Tesla to pay employees salaries in cryptocurrency.
