Police seized $ 60 million in BTC, but cannot withdraw it

German police seized a hardware wallet containing 1,700 BTC from a hacker, but cannot access it becausethe owner refuses to issue a password.

A German citizen hacked other people's computers and used them to mine Bitcoin. The hacker was sentenced to two years in prison. 

Authorities have confiscated his wallet but are unable to withdraw funds from him. According to prosecutor Sebastian Muhrer, “we asked him about the password, but he didn't tell us anything”.
