Paris Hilton to Launch Metaverse Romance Show

American singer and actress ParisHilton, in collaboration with the creators of the metaverse The Sandbox, will launch a romantic reality show, Parisland, which will take place in a virtual world.

Parisland is somethinga cross between a game and an interactive TV show, where the action takes place on a tropical island paradise. The show is scheduled to begin on February 13th, in honor of the upcoming Valentine's Day, and will run for about a month.

In Parisland, users will have fivepotential romantic partners. Before making a choice, the participants of the game will have to go through quests: choose wedding rings and outfits, try to uncover the secret of the signature “love burger” from the chef on the island, and even save a shipwrecked man. Then the couple will play a virtual wedding to music, the DJ of which will be Paris Hilton herself.

"I can't think of a better way to spendcolder months than to take a romantic trip on Valentine's Day to the tropical island of Parisland in the metaverse. There you will find relaxation on sunny beaches, carefree romance and sincere emotions,” assured The Sandbox operating director Sebastien Borget.

The company participated in the creation of ParislandHilton 11:11 Media. Hilton 11:11 Media's head of strategic development for Web3 and metaverse, Cynthia Miller, says the company is interested in developing similar solutions for new audiences who are ready to communicate not only with each other, but also with celebrities.

Dating in the metaverse can be goodalternative to websites or dating apps, but are not without risks. Researchers at the Center for Countering Digital Hate (CCDH) estimate that a violent incident occurs in virtual reality every seven minutes.

Paris Hilton is known for her love formetaverses and non-fungible tokens. Last year, the actress was criticized by the consumer rights organization Truth in Advertising (TINA), accusing her of concealing information about receiving financial compensation for promoting NFTs. At the end of the year, it became known that Hilton's name appears in a lawsuit regarding the promotion of tokens from the Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) collection.
