Bitcoin's market capitalization is still about five times larger than Ethereum, but ETH trading volume is growingfaster than VTS.
Currently on the Binance Ethereum exchangecaptures the trading volume by only 20% less than the trading volume of the first cryptocurrency. According to The Block analyst Larry Chermak, the price dynamics of the second cryptocurrency is impressive, but it shows there is free space for growth.
He notes that the ratio between ETH / BTC trading volumes on the largest exchanges demonstrates that many traders prefer Ethereum over Bitcoin.
Market markers are now closest toindicators in March, before the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, which triggered a 50% market crash in a matter of hours. And the highest ratio between ETH / BTC spot trading volumes was recorded in mid-summer 2017, when Ethereum was ahead of the flagship cryptocurrency.
