Oleg Deripaska urged the Central Bank of Russia to recognize bitcoin

Russian oligarch Oleg Deripaska once again called on the Russian government to stop ignoring Bitcoin.This happened immediately after the FBI conducted searches in his American residences.

Deripaska believes that cryptocurrencies can help the Russian Federation not only bypass US sanctions, but also weaken the dollar. In his telegram channel, he wrote:

While our Central Bank infantilely closes its eyes tothe growing cryptocurrency market, the US Treasury is investing in the development of this particular direction. Overseas have long understood that uncontrolled digital payments can not only negate the effectiveness of the entire mechanism of economic sanctions, which the authorities have been betting on for 20 years in a row, but also bring down the dollar as a whole.

He added:

It's time to open your eyes and take cryptocurrency seriously. In the aging American establishment, there are still plenty of people willing to fight, and the weapon of economic defeat is being sharpened with renewed vigor.

Deripaska's post was published a couple of days later.after law enforcement officers came to his homes in New York and Washington with searches. The oligarch and his companies were included in the sanctions list back in 2018 due to their close ties with Vladimir Putin.
