OKEx Resumes P2P Trading

Cryptocurrency exchange OKEx has resumed crypto-fiat trading on its peer-to-peer platform. From todaydays, Chinese yuan, Vietnamese dong and Indian rupees are available for exchange on it.

Crypto-fiat peer-to-peer trading was halted along with withdrawals last week.

OKEx acts as an escrow agent for P2P transactions. The company blocks the amount in cryptocurrency until the seller confirms the receipt of fiat funds, after which it transfers it to the buyer. Also, clients can transfer assets to each other within the platform using unique identifiers.

Taking this opportunity, someusers began to negotiate the sale of assets at a reduced rate outside the exchange. OKEx later announced that the internal transfers function was blocked for many clients due to the automatic triggering of the internal risk control system.

Withdrawing bitcoins and other cryptocurrencies through standard OKEx channels is still not possible. When users will be able to access their assets is unknown.
