In Lithuania, confiscated cryptocurrencies sold for $ 7.6 million

The Lithuanian government sold a batch of cryptocurrency seized by local law enforcement agencies.

State taxthe inspectorate has implemented the registered cryptoassets in the amount of € 6.4 million ($ 7.6 million) and contributed the received funds to the state budget.

According to the official statement from November 24, among the cryptocurrencies were bitcoins (BTC), ether (ETH), as well as the confidential coin Monero (XMR).

“This is the first sale of cryptocurrency for fiat, and it took almost a day to convert the cryptocurrency into euros,” the department noted.

Irin Gavrilov, the director of the department of the administration of tax payroll, noted that in the future these operations will pass more quickly.

It is known that the facilities were confirmed at the end of February 2020, they went on sale after the completion of the law enforcement agency.
