Hackers withdrew almost $14 million from the South Korean crypto exchange Gdac

The South Korean cryptocurrency exchange Gdac came under attack. Hackers withdrew almost $14 million - 23% of the total volume of assets stored by the exchange - from the Gdac wallet to an unidentified wallet.

The attackers stole 61 BTC, 350.5 ETH, 10million Wemix tokens and $220,000. Gdac said it notified police about the hack and is working to return the funds. The company also asked the Korea Internet and Security Agency (KISA) for help.

“We ask those who are responsible for the operation of exchanges toprocessing virtual assets, immediately block the deposit from the address from which the withdrawal occurred, as indicated in the official letter,” the company said.

Previously, the decentralized exchange SushiSwap was hacked. Hackers withdrew more than $3.3 million using a vulnerability in the RouteProcessor2 smart contract for routing trade.

Also, unknown hackers hacked the DeFi project Terraport Finance and withdrew about 9.5 million TERRA, 15 billion LUNC and 5.5 million USTC. The total amount of stolen funds is $4 million.
