Hackers returned more than $100 million in cryptocurrency to Euler Finance

The hackers behind the hack of DeFi lending platform Euler Finance and the theft of $197 million have recovered most of the stolen assets.

On March 25, the hacker returned 51,000 ETH (about $88million). On the same day, a second transfer was made in the amount of 7,737 ETH (more than $13 million). Earlier, on March 18, the hacker sent 3,000 ETH (almost $5.4 million) to the protocol.

In March, the Euler Finance team reported thathackers hacked the platform by taking advantage of the vulnerability of the protocol's smart contracts. Euler tried to make a deal with the hackers, offering to return 90% of the stolen funds within the first 24 hours. 

Last week, criminals contactedEuler Finance and stated that they want to resolve the issue peacefully and are ready to return assets that do not belong to them. Eurler agreed to discuss the details.  

One of the users of the hacked protocol sent a message to the hackers, saying that he had lost all his savings - 78 ETH ($130,000). The hackers immediately transferred 100 ETH to the victim’s wallet.

Earlier it became known that hackers from the Lazarus Group, which is associated with North Korea, attacked Euler hackers.
