Elon Musk: SpaceX and Starlink will accept Dogecoin for payment

The founder of SpaceX and Starlink announced that in the near future the companies plan toexpand the ways of paying for goods and services through cryptocurrency.

Elon Musk announced that SpaceXwill accept Dogecoin in its online store of themed souvenirs. Previously, a similar feature was implemented in the Tesla store. The head of SpaceX and Tesla told his followers on Twitter.

In addition, SpaceX has already accepted payment in Dogecoin for the Doge-1 mission, which is expected to launch a small satellite into lunar orbit in June 2022.

Musk said that similar services will be available in the future.will apply to clients of the satellite Internet provider Starlink, who will be able to pay for a subscription in DOGE. In a tweet dedicated to Starlink, Musk spoke about the support of the project by regulators on all six continents.

According to the World Bank, almost 1.7 billion of the world's population lack remote access to basic financial services due to the lack of reliable Internet connections.
