Civic has released a package of products to combat bots and scammers

Cybersecurity specialists Web3 from Civic, against the backdrop of increasing incidents related to fraud during airdrops, launched a user identification tool.

Civic specializes in creatinginfrastructure for Web3. As part of its program to combat bots and fraud, the company launched a new uniqueness verification tool and platform called Civic.me. Chief Product Officer JP Bedoya, in an interview at the NFT Expoverse in Los Angeles, said that uniqueness verification is part of a whole set of products for legal entities called Civic Pass.

Uniqueness check should preventbots unauthorized to use the NFT drop.  Using this functionality, you can limit the number of wallets that an account can use for airdrops. For example, a user will be able to use only one wallet during an airdrop.

Civic platform.me allows users to manage their online identities, NFTs, wallet addresses and reputation from a single address on the blockchain. According to Bedoy, NFTs have already become the cornerstone of user identity on Web3:

“This is the address from which you will be able to manage your ever-growing collection of NFTs and all items associated with your Web3 identity, profile and persona.”

Bedoya believes that hackers too often take advantage of protocol vulnerabilities when hacking.

"When it comes to safety andcybersecurity in Web3, there are several aspects to consider: access and hacking. This often happens due to errors and code issues in smart contracts,” said Civic’s chief product officer.

Recently, the security team of Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) recorded an increase in the number of cyber threats and warned the NFT collecting community of an impending mass attack via social networks.
