Chinese news agency Marsbit announces intention to buy out CoinDesk

The Chinese media Marsbit, supported by the Binance, Huobi and OKX exchanges, has announced its readiness to buy out the competing publication CoinDesk.

Founder of Chinese InformationMarsbit agency Wang Feng shared his intentions on Twitter. The head of Marsbit assured that he is ready to cooperate with any investment funds or companies interested in a partnership to acquire one of the largest crypto publications on the planet.

“I believe in the future of the crypto industry and am ready to provide services in the most effective way, regardless of whether we are talking about trading or the media,” he wrote
Wang on Twitter.

According to The Wall Street Journal, Digital Currency Group (DCG), faced with a liquidity crisis, is considering
the possibility of selling the popular news publication CoinDesk, the preliminary value of which is estimated at approximately $200 million.

On Thursday, January 19, another DCG subsidiary, crypto lender Genesis, filed for bankruptcy. The company did not fulfill its debt obligations
before 100 000 creditors. The 50 largest investors account for more than $3.6 billion. Preliminarily, the company's total debt obligations are approaching $11 billion.
