CFTC and SEC join forces to regulate cryptocurrencies

CFTC and SEC join forces to regulate cryptocurrencies

Members of the House of Representatives appealed to the heads of regulatory agencies with a demand to join forces tosolutions to pressing issues regarding cryptocurrencies.

US lawmakers are trying to put pressure on regulators and expedite the creation of a joint working group with the participation of the CFTC and SEC.

Congressmen Patrick McHenry and Glenn Thompson sent letters to departments calling on them to expedite the creation of a group on cryptocurrency issues.

McHenry has previously expressed concerns that Gary Gensler's intentions to gain more control over the crypto ecosystem threatens to damage American innovation.

Representatives of the Chamber are confident that instead oftotal control and limitation of innovation, the authorities should establish an active dialogue between regulatory agencies and market participants. They urge the departments to start the work of the group immediately, without waiting for the entry of a special decree, and to explore the possibilities of sharing their powers.
