BTC miners mined 4 blocks in 46 seconds

Approximately every 10 minutes, one block is mined on the Bitcoin network. The exact time of creation of new blocks maychange a little. It mainly depends on the mining difficulty, which is adjusted every 2016 blocks or approximately every two weeks.

On May 1, Bitcoin miners mined 4 blocks in just 46seconds. Such a sharp surge in block production may indicate that mining complexity is currently quite low. Recall that before halving Bitcoin 2020, less than two weeks remain.

According to BTC.com, on May 1, for several hours, the miners managed to mine from 7 to 12 new blocks. Nevertheless, according to Blockchain.com, on this day the hashrate of the network did not show growth and was at around 112 EH / s.

In addition, the number of unconfirmedtransactions in the Bitcoin mempool reached record highs this week. An overcrowded mempool means that miners cannot keep up with the flow of transactions and choose transactions with the highest fees to confirm.
