Bloomberg: Former FTX CTO intends to make a deal with investigators

Another former top manager of the bankrupt cryptocurrency exchange FTX intends to cooperate with the US Attorney's Office for the Southern District of New York in the investigation of the case.

As reported by Bloomberg with reference toAccording to sources close to the proceedings, former FTX CTO Nishad Singh, who has not previously been accused of wrongdoing, has been invited to appear before the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of New York in the case of former site chief Sam Bankman-Fried -Fried).

Prosecutors accuse Bankman-Fried oflaundering client funds through political and charitable donations, and Nishad Singh was asked to share his knowledge with prosecutors in exchange for being granted qualified immunity.

Recall that the director of the hedge fund FTX AlamedaResearch Caroline Ellison and FTX co-founder Gary Wang have already  pleaded guilty to fraud and began to cooperate with the authorities. Following the public announcement of Ellison and Wang's decision,  U.S. Attorney Damian Williams issued a warning to those from whom prosecutors have not yet received a response.

“If you have been involved in misconduct at FTX or Alameda, now is the time to speak up. We act quickly and our patience will not last forever,” Williams said.

Singh's participation in the meeting of the prosecutor's office is notinvolves the automatic conclusion of a cooperation agreement with law enforcement agencies. Prosecutors must weigh the value of Singh's information before deciding whether to offer him a deal that would allow him to plead guilty and cooperate in exchange for being granted qualified immunity.

Last week, another hearing took place in the case of the former head of FTX in Manhattan federal court, where he denied all the prosecutors' charges brought against him in connection with the collapse of the exchange.
