Bitcoin mining difficulty hits new record

After another recalculation of the difficulty of Bitcoin mining, the indicator increased by 3.45%. At the same time, the complexity reached 32.05 trillion hashes - this is the maximum figure in the entire history of the network.

Due to record hot weather, local authorities have asked to turn off cryptocurrency mining devices to smooth out peaks in energy consumption.

However, the heat in Texas has passed and the hashraterecovered to previous values, and now has increased slightly, which led to an increase in mining difficulty to record values ​​of 32.05 trillion hashes. Now the average daily hashrate is 229.39 Eh/s.

Mining difficulty is recalculatedapproximately once every two weeks. Note that two weeks earlier the difficulty increased by 9.26%. The next difficulty recalculation should take place in 13 days. According to the forecast of the BTC.com service, in two weeks the figure will decrease by 1.5%.

Earlier, the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy reported that electricity consumption by cryptocurrency miners in the United States reached 50 billion kWh per year.
