Bitcoin Investors Have Tripled Since 2018, According To Gallup Survey

According to a study by analytical company Gallup, the number of American investors who own bitcoins has tripled over the past three years.

The survey showed that the main part of the increase in the indicator fell on the younger generation, which is more aware in this direction.Since 2018, in the United States , the share of investors who own more than $10,000 worth of bitcoin or bitcoin-based derivatives has grown from 2% to 6%.

At the same time, among investors under 50 years old, 13% work with cryptocurrency (three years ago it was 3%), and among the older generation, the figureequal to only 3% (previously it was 1%).

Gallup analysts say that the value of 6% is comparable to the level of gold ownership (11%) among the respondents.At the same time, 84% of them invested  in index or mutual funds, 67% in stocks, and 50% in bonds.

The survey also shows that over the past 3 years , the risk perception of investing in bitcoin has decreased significantly.The share of those who call cryptocurrency investments "very risky" has decreased from 75% to 60%, another 35% believe that working with them is associated with "some risk", and 5% are convinced that there is no such thingspecial risk.

Gallup believes that major players such as Tesla, Square, and Morgan Stanley can contribute to increasing the level of trust in digital assets .In addition, according to a study by the Dutch trust company Intertrust Group, 98% of hedge funds are preparing to work with cryptocurrencies in the next five years.
