Binance no longer accepts Russian Visa and Mastercard

Cryptocurrency exchange Binance has published an official warning about the imminent shutdown of those issued in RussiaVisa and Mastercard cards. Map support will end on March 10 at midnight Moscow time.

“Any transactions made with Russian-issued Visa and Mastercard cards will not be available on Binance”, - the exchange writes.

Earlier, Binance stopped accepting payments from cards of Russian banks that were under sanctions. Note that Mir cards are not supported for deposits and withdrawals on Binance.

Visa and MasterCard announced their withdrawal fromRussia at the weekend. As a result, from March 10, cross-border transactions, including purchases in foreign online stores, with such cards will not be available. As explained in the Central Bank, the cards “will continue to work on the territory of Russia as usual,” since “transactions on them are processed domestically in the National Payment Card System, and sanctions do not affect them.”

Previously, Zhao assured that Binance would not block Russian users unilaterally, except in cases where sanctions are imposed against specific individuals.
