Bahamas regulators petition to access FTX customer databases

The Bahamas has filed a petition with the Delaware Bankruptcy Courtasking them to have access to the personal data of all FTX customers.

In a statement, representatives of the Bahamas administration drew the judge's attention to the fact that despite "numerous attempts to gain access," FTX employees and advisers are ignoringBahamian regulators in their attempts to obtain important financial information.

The requested database is stored on Amazon Web Services (AWS) servers and the Google Cloud Portal, and containsClients' personal information, such as customer wallet addresses, current balances, deposit and withdrawal records, transactions conducted, and accounting data.

Previously, the Bahamian Securities CommissionIslands (SCB) transferred all FTX assets to a state-controlled wallet, thereby completely ignoring the bankruptcy procedure of the FTX cryptocurrency exchange launched in the United States. In addition, the Bahamian government issued a white paper requesting that FTX's bankruptcy case be transferred to court in the Bahamas.
