Anatoly Aksakov: “The project to regulate cryptocurrency mining has been submitted to the State Duma”

Chairman of the State Duma Committee onAnatoly Aksakov told the financial market that a bill legalizing the mining and circulation of cryptocurrencies in Russia has been prepared and is being considered by the State Duma.

Within the framework of the bill, in addition to the provisions oncryptocurrency mining, payment for goods and services with digital assets is allowed. However, we are only talking about the use of cryptocurrencies to pay for foreign goods - payments within the Russian Federation can still only be made in rubles.

“A bill has been introduced that allowslegalize mining, that is, the release and circulation of cryptocurrencies. But cryptocurrencies can only be used as a means of payment outside our country, in foreign jurisdictions. At the same time, the bill stipulates that if an experimental regime for the use of cryptocurrencies is implemented, then this is possible, for example, to pay for parallel imports. This is a step that speaks of a new direction for the development of financial markets in our country,” the deputy said.

Let us recall that on October 19, the State Duma rejected a bill to legalize cryptocurrency mining in Russia - the document presented by the New People faction was considered unfinished.
