Zuckerberg will rework the Horizon Worlds metaverse after criticism of the quality of the graphics

Meta CEO announced, that Horizon Worlds, a metaverse-focused game, will see a number of changes that will make it "more immersive and visually impressive."

Mark Zuckerberg issued a statement aftera barrage of user criticism towards the visual component of the game: social network users laughed at Horizon Worlds, saying that the graphics there are even worse than in the 2003 multiplayer game Second Life, which was similar in functionality.

“Major Horizon updates coming soon, improving, among other things, the visual style of your avatars. Horizon's graphics are capable of so much more, even on headsets. Horizon is improving very quickly,” Zuckerberg assured.

Critics wondered how a company withmulti-billion dollar budget, failed to improve the graphics, leaving them at a very low level. At the same time, it is known that Meta spent about $10 billion on developments in the field of virtual reality. Meta is especially actively investing in its division to create the Reality Labs metaverse, but sales volume still leaves much to be desired.

Division sales in the second quarter2022 totaled more than $400 million, but losses over the same period reached $2.8 billion. Earlier in August, the company issued $10 billion in bonds to continue to fund its operations, including its metaverse division.

Previously, the company announced that it was launching Horizon Worlds in the markets of France and Spain. At the same time, Meta intends to expand its activities in most European countries by 2023.
