Zilliqa Blockchain Platform Team Restarted Network After Crash

The developers of the Zilliqa blockchain restarted the project network after a failure in smart contracts. Because of a mistakesegmentation platform did not process blocks.

The Zilliqa network stopped generating blocks on July 29th.According to the statement, the cause of the failure was the incorrect operation of one of the functions of the Scilla language, on the basis of which the project was built. The error led to the interruption of the server process in the mining nodes.

"Scilla depends on a cryptographic librarysecp256k1. After its deployment, a segmentation error occurred when one of the parameters was outside the acceptable range,” the developers explained.

The team has released a new version of the softwaresoftware that uses the corrected compilation of secp256k1. The update was checked on testenet - the platform correctly processes parameters out of range.

Zilliqa was launched in 2017.The project gained fame due to its early implementation of sharding technology - a method of horizontal data division that allows increasing the throughput of the blockchain.

Let us recall that in July 2022, the Celo blockchain platform suspended operations amid the deployment of Uniswap smart contracts in the network.
