WisdomTree Applies For Bitcoin ETF In US

WisdomTree, which manages $ 64 billion in assets, is expecting a green light from the SEC to launch a Bitcoin ETF.

New York company has applied to launchBitcoin-linked exchange-traded fund (ETF) on Thursday 11 March. The shares are planned to be listed on the Cboe BZX exchange, under the ticker BTCW. The price calculation will be based on the CME CF Bitcoin index based on BTC quotes on the main spot platforms. The company has not yet indicated the custodian of digital assets, and the Delaware Trust Company will act as the trustee.

However, given the regulatory silence for a long time, WisdomTree may have to wait a long time for its application to be approved.

Earlier this year, VanEck and the NYDIG Stock Exchange sought approval from the SEC and stillThey are waiting for a response from the commission.

Some analysts believe that with the change of SEC leadership and the arrival of Gary Gensler, the regulator's approach to the digital asset market could radically change in a more friendly direction.
