Winklevoss brothers purchase cryptocurrency collectible startup

Cryptocurrency exchange Gemini acquired Nifty Gateway.

Startup Nifty Gateway issues NFT tokens used ingames CryptoKitties and Gods Unchained.NFT tokens represent ownership of certain digital assets, such as digital pets, artwork, stamps, and in-game items such as skins, dances, and weapons.

Non-fungible tokens, digital goods and itemscollectibles will play an important role in the next era of the digital economy. They are ideal for crypto collecting, crypto art and more. They underlie the creation of entirely new multi-billion dollar industries, – said Gemini CEO Tyler Winklevoss.

According to a Bloomberg report, Gemini did not disclose the acquisition price.
