Vitalik Buterin called Ethereum Classic the best blockchain for Proof-of-Work lovers

Speaking at the EthCC conference, the co-founder of Ethereum called Ethereum Classic an excellent network for the transition of miners and other fans of the Proof-of-Work algorithm.

Speaking, Vitalik Buterin asked if there werepeople who would like to cancel the transfer of the Ethereum network to the Proof-of-Stake algorithm. Then he joked that he saw a man who wanted to raise his hand, but changed his mind amid the silence of others.

“Many have long wanted to see the transition toproof-of-stake. But there are other great networks out there, including Ethereum Classic. This is the original Ethereum, and the developers have not betrayed its original vision. Classic has a great community and will certainly be happy to see Proof-of-Work fans. I’m not joking at all, this is a great network,” summed up the Ethereum co-founder.

Recall that the fork of ETC from the original Ethereumhappened in July 2016. With each upgrade of the Ethereum network, Ethereum Classic has distanced itself from the original blockchain. Considering that after the transition of Ethereum to PoS, ETH mining will become unavailable, it is possible that a significant part of the miners will switch to Ethereum Classic. And Buterin will officially welcome it.

At the same time, according to the creator of Ethereum, the network of the second cryptocurrency by market capitalization will be able to process up to 100,000 transactions per second after switching to PoS and other improvements.
