Payment giant Visa to acquire fintech startupPlaid, which helps users of its service to connect bank accounts to financial applications for the exchange of information between them, and also serves cryptocurrency projects.
Under the agreement, Visa will redeem the young companyfor $ 5.3 billion, of which $ 4.9 billion will be transferred immediately, and the remaining $ 400 million with a delay. The parties have already agreed on all conditions and are now awaiting regulatory approval. Closing of the transaction should take place in the next 3-6 months.
