US accuses Florida teenager of Twitter hacking

Authorities arrested a 17-year-old and his two accomplices. They are suspected of hacking accountsfamous personalities, including Barack Obama and Elon Musk.

celebrities including Bill Gates, Elon Musk and Joseph Biden have begun promoting a Bitcoin fraudulent scheme. Twitter representatives confirmed that some users were victims of hacking, and also expressed their assumptions about what happened.

As it turned out, the “brain” of the hacker operation was17-year-old high school graduate from Florida named Graham Ivan Clark. On Friday, he was detained in his apartment. Now he has to answer 30 charges, including hacking and fraud. It is worth noting that Clark will be tried as an adult citizen.

Two other suspects, Mason John Sheppard from the UK and Nima Fazeli from the US, are accused of helping Clark during the break-in. 

Clark was reportedly followed by federal authorities prior to the Twitter hack. According to them, in April, law enforcement officers seized about $ 700,000 in bitcoin from him, but the reason for the confiscation was not specified.

By the time Twitter employees managedstop the attack, hackers have already published a call to send bitcoins from 45 accounts and gained access to the private messages of 36 accounts. According to NewYorkTimes, they managed to earn about $180,000 during the hack.
