Ukrainian security forces seize 3,800 PlayStations that were used for illegal mining

Miners used an empty warehouse of an energy company to mine cryptocurrency on variousdevices – including on game consoles.

According to information from the SBU, law enforcement officers managed to discover an illegal mining farm in the Vinnytsia region and seize all the equipment. 

Miners illegally connected to the Vinnytsiaoblenergo network and mined cryptocurrencies from stolen electricity, causing damage to the utility company in the amount of $ 186,000 to $ 259,000.

Unknown people mined cryptocurrency on completely different devices – police seized 500 graphics cards, 50 processors and 3,800 PlayStation 4 consoles.
