Ukrainian cyber police detained a hacker who cracked a crypto account

A resident of Zaporozhye cleaned the accounts of crypto-exchange users with the help of dangerous software.

The cyber police of the Zaporozhye region succeededarrest a 25-year-old intruder and conduct a search in the suspect’s apartment. During the search, computer equipment and a mobile phone infected with malicious software were discovered and seized. 

The young attacker acquired virus software onclosed hacker forum, and modified it. The updated virus made it possible to access the accounts of the owner of the infected computer. Downloaded to the victim’s computer, the virus opened its creator access to the owner’s exchange accounts, allowing them to freely withdraw crypto assets to their wallet. On the hacker's computer, law enforcement officers discovered confidential user information, passwords and account keys.
