Ukraine presented the project “State in a Smartphone”

The Presidential Office held a presentation of the digital state brand, announcing the legalizationcryptocurrencies and synchronization of the digital infrastructure of Ukraine with the global digital infrastructure.

The presentation took place on September 27 in Zaporozhye atInternational IT Forum 2019 with the participation of Verkhovna Rada Chairman Dmitry Razumkov, Minister of Digital Transformation Mikhail Fedorov, Minister of Finance Oksana Markarova and representatives of the IT sector.

Presenting a new concept, Mikhail Fedorovemphasized the importance of cooperation between the state and private business in the field of digitalization. Noting that compliance with modern trends in business, state and municipal government is impossible without the development of blockchain technology and cryptocurrencies.

One of the initial tasks notedMinister, this is the creation of a regulatory framework that will allow the legalization of cryptocurrency transactions in the country and the state receiving income from cryptocurrency trading. 

In addition, to integrate the country into the Europeandigital market, it is planned to launch payment systems PayPal, ETSY and Stripe. This will allow synchronizing Ukraine’s digital infrastructure with the global one. This will also help implement the Electronic Residency project – an opportunity for foreign businessmen to conduct business at a global level without coming to the country.

The new team plans to increase the share of IT ingross domestic product (GDP) of the country up to 10% and create infrastructure for simple and convenient doing business in Ukraine and integration into the global digital market.
