The State Service for Special Communications and Information Protection of Ukraine has developed a software packagebasic blockchain system using domestic cryptography with high post-quantum strength. This was reported to ForkLog by the press service of the department.
Technology can be used to conductvarious votes, the creation of a national cryptocurrency, the use of smart contracts and the provision of fault-tolerant electronic document management.
Now, on the basis of the blockchain, a prototype electronic voting system has been deployed.
"The main advantage of the developed prototype is the implementation of domestic cryptographic standards DSTU 4145: 2002, DSTU 7564: 2014, DSTU 7624: 2014 and DSTU 8845: 2019, which are stable even in the post-quantum period,"- representatives of the State Special Communications Service told ForkLog.
Experts have conducted research on issuessecurity and development of recommendations regarding the use of blockchain technology. The results were included in the “road map”, which describes the components of decentralized systems recommended for each of the practical applications of the technology.
The State Special Communications Service has also prepared a draft technical regulation of cryptographic information protection facilities. Now the project is being prepared for approval by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.
Earlier, the National Bank and the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine approved a strategy for the development of the financial sector until 2025, one of the directions of which was the development of blockchain technologies.
