UK Treasury: The government will work more actively with the crypto industry

Chief Financial OfficerThe United Kingdom department believes that cabinet colleagues are still experiencing difficulties with the speed of decision-making regarding the crypto industry.

UK Chancellor of the Exchequer Andrew Griffith(Andrew Griffith) announced plans to resume active government involvement in the development of this new sector of the economy. The department plans to hold six roundtables with industry participants throughout the year to continue work on bills related to cryptocurrencies.

The official recalled the document on the rules forcryptocurrency industry, which were previously promised to be published before Christmas. The document is not ready yet, since difficulties have arisen in coordination between different departments, but this is a matter of several weeks, not months, the Ministry of Finance assures.

“We all strive for clarity in regulationcrypto-industry, but we want laws regarding this to be adopted quickly, so that regulatory authorities work at the same pace. “At the end of the day, we won’t be able to compete internationally if our regulators are slow to make decisions,” says Griffith.

In April last year, the UK authorities set out to make the country a global center for cryptocurrencies. However, a year has passed, and since then no significant progress has been made.
