TON blockchain launched without Telegram

TON Developer and Validator Community Launches Free TON Blockchain Platform with Native TokenTON Crystal (TON) based on previously published source code.

This month it became completely clear thatUS regulators will not allow the Gram token to enter the market, and the TON blockchain team launched a similar platform with a different name and with its cryptocurrency.

On May 7, during the presentation of the main components of TON OS on GitHub, TON Labs announced the launch of the free version of the Telegram Open Blockchain, Free TON.

The Free TON blockchain is an independent network,operating on the principles of the Declaration of Decentralization (DOD). Legally, the new platform is in no way connected with Telegram and its judicial battles with the SEC, nevertheless, in terms of technical characteristics, the new network does not differ from the Telegram Open Network.

Free TON plan to launch in stages

The first step involves launching a test network,the release of the decentralized Surf browser, the TON Cash token and the DePool decentralized staking pool. Developers must manage to configure the basic network parameters before activating the decentralization bomb (DTB) integrated in the code.

At the end of the first stage, full control over the network should pass to independent validators.

The native TON token will be distributed to different automatic "giver contracts".5 billion TON will be issued on the blockchain, which will be distributed to the project participants.Of the total number, 85% of tokens will be distributed through the referral program, 10% will receiveThe remaining 5% is for validators.

Whether the new platform will be popular without the messenger audience is still difficult to say, even for TON investors, with whose money they launched the alternative platform.
