The Simpsons talked about how blockchain and cryptocurrencies work

One of the last episodes of The Simpsons aired featuring The Big Bang Theory's Jim Parsons inthe role of the guest star in explaining the concept of cryptocurrencies and how the blockchain works.

In the episode, Parsons' character performs a dance and a song, which says that cryptocurrency is the future money. On behalf of distributed ledger technology, the song sings: “Every day I get closer to being the money of the future. I'm not in your wallet, I'm in your computer!

At the end of Parsons' speech, a message appears on the screen explaining how cryptocurrencies work:

“There are many cryptocurrencies. This system has certain rules for issuing additional units of cryptocurrency. They can be generated in fiat currencies, or simply distributed randomly, or all given to Lebron. ”

The cryptocurrency community approved the release of the episode. On the social network Twitter, the Altcoin Daily account published the following message:

The Simpsons did it! The great Jim Parsons told Lisa about cryptocurrencies! This is the money of the future! ”

In the comments on the post, some usersnoted that the Simpsons screenwriters have repeatedly successfully predicted the future. Ten years ago, Donald Trump appeared on the series as president of the United States, and recently, screenwriters have been anticipating the finale of Game of Thrones.

Let us recall that in the spring of 2018 the mentioncryptocurrencies appeared in Marvel comics and a game based on The Simpsons. Of course, Bitcoin itself has already been mentioned in The Simpsons itself - about seven years ago, the character Krusty admitted that he was broke due to an unsuccessful game in the cryptocurrency market.

Bitcoin has also been mentioned in populartelevision series, such as Grey's Anatomy. In addition, last year an animated series called Bitcoin and Friends was released, and in the United States they were planning to release a series about a cryptocurrency startup.
